This product is based on the training wear used by the British Army, and combines four different vintage sweatshirt designs and fabrics.
【 Right body 】
Faithfully recreating a sweatshirt design from the 1930s. Crafted from classic sweatshirt fabric for a classic look.

It has a sweatshirt design reminiscent of the 1940s. The surface has a brushed lining, giving it a warm feel.

It features gently curved freedom sleeves. It uses waffle fabric, which is characterised by its uneven texture.

Set-in sleeves. Made from a finely knit thermal fabric with excellent stretch, the cuffs feature a broad arrow embroidery.
These different designs and fabrics are boldly joined together in the centre of the body.
The ribs and gussets on the left and right are at different heights, so it's a design that would normally seem impossible to pull off, but that's what you'd expect from Nigel Cabourn.
By using the same colour dye and different stitching depending on the seam, they've managed to pull it off seamlessly.

The four different designs are produced in two domestic factories with reliable technology. The reason we have two factories is because we use different sewing machines on the left and right sides.

The back of the left body is sewn with a flat-seam machine to minimize overlap of fabric, while the back of the right body is sewn with a serger to recreate the atmosphere of the time.
I always tell this story to customers, and it's always fun to see their surprised reactions. lol
I remember having the same reaction as everyone else when I first learned about this feature.
As an aside, a production manager told us, "This item is the most cost-effective of all Nigel Cabourn products, with the price and effort being the least balanced."
That's no surprise, as different fabrics are used and the pieces are produced in two factories.
It's easy to find clothes with different designs on each side, but it's rare to find clothes that are made in different factories.
