- The Nature of Vintage Wash -
This denim fabric is the result of Nigel Cabourn's repeated testing.
To recreate a vintage-like texture, this fabric combines indigo and sulphur dyes.
The combination of these two dyes creates a sun-bleached look, as if the fabric has been worn for many years.
This fabric is then given a vintage wash treatment by hand by artisans.
Bleaching and hand-rubbing are used to give it an even more vintage-like appearance.
If it's done too much, it just looks uneven, but if it's too subtle, it loses its character - it's a fine line.
This denim fabric gives you a feeling of nostalgia, despite being new.
- T-Backs that will appeal to denim enthusiasts -
Any denim enthusiast can't help but look back on the "T-back."
The price rise of denim jackets, which would have been unthinkable just a few decades ago, has now reached an unmanageable level.
The "T" in this design plays a major role.
The term "T-back" originally referred to the back design used for extra-large (or "big") sizes at the time.
Old power looms were too narrow to accommodate larger sizes, so the centre of the back was changed below the yoke.
